The "Impatient Virgin?" lives again!

April 2008

Last week we fired up this grand old warbird for the first time and took her out to taxi around. We believe we have about a month to go before she takes to the air. While in these final stages we are attempting to finalize the paint in order to faithfully duplicate E9-R/E9-B as she flew in the war. We need to confirm the number and types of kills so that we may apply the correct kill markings to the fuselage.

The Impatient Virgin? The Impatient Virgin? The Impatient Virgin?

We are seeking anyone who may have knowledge of the history of the "Impatient Virgin?" to include pilots, groundcrew, other squadron members etc... Some specific indivduals (or their family members) we are seeking include:

  • John B. Bricker - Pilot (2 kills 11-2-44?)
  • Engineering Officer Captain Francis E. Murray (signed crash report 6-22-45)
  • F/O Wade C. Ross (Pilot when crash occured)
  • Sergeant Bandy (Crew Chief mentioned in crash report)
  • Howard A. Lane (Major, A.C. Operations Officer mentioned in crash report)

If you can help us in this regard, please contact us, that help would be invaluable. Since this aircraft will be going to an air museum in the northwest we feel we must be as historically accurate as possible and want to honor that history and the men who created it.
